This project was brought to life by the following people who volunteered their time, talents and expertise. CLR:SKY is the brainchild of Fay Johnson and an extension of her fellowship with the Applied Social Media Lab at the Berkman Klein Center for Social Media.

As we seek to identify interventions and user experience changes that can shift the nature of conversations online, we welcome you input, feedback and collaboration. Please reach out if you would like to engage.

Fay M. Johnson, Founder

Fay Johnson is a seasoned product management leader with over two decades of experience driving innovation in consumer technology. Her work focuses on fostering trust, safety, and meaningful connection across digital platforms.

Fay is a Fellow at Harvard’s Applied Social Media Lab where she conducts applied research on depolarization and enhancing civility in online discourse. She is exploring in-app interventions to encourage constructive interactions, grounded in behavior change psychology and pro-social behavioral theory.

Her career includes product leadership roles at Meta, Twitter, and Nextdoor, where she developed and scaled solutions to complex trust and safety challenges. At Meta, she led product efforts on transparency, fairness, and regulatory compliance. At Twitter (now X), she directed teams focused on reporting, appeals, and self-remediation tools to empower users while maintaining compliance with global privacy regulations. Most recently, at Nextdoor, Fay served as Head of Product for Neighborhood Vitality, overseeing trust and safety, content moderation, and AI-driven solutions to promote kind conversations.

Fay also founded Deliberate Discourse, an anti-bias and depolarization initiative that has shaped her passion for creating safe spaces—online and offline—where people can engage meaningfully across differences.

Fay holders a BA from UCLA and a Master’s from Georgetown in Behavior Change Communication.

This project is an extension of her fellowship at Harvard University.
